Yiran Wang
Her perspective on education grew through study abroad, business consulting and the international expansion of a manufacturing business.
Yiran holds a master’s degree in Learning Analytics from Teachers College, Columbia University, and bachelor’s degrees in Business and Psychology from Pepperdine University. Her early work spanned business consulting and impact investing. She later joined Zhejiang BLG as assistant to the chairman and US company representative, supporting overseas market development and cross-border collaboration.
Working in industry brought her close to the talent and development challenges facing manufacturing families across generations. This became the starting point for Grown: connecting family expectations with young people’s interests, and opening up factories, supply chains and family businesses as settings for learning and exploration.
She is a co-partner of China Factory Second Generation PLUS and a member of the Shanghai hub of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, with interests in family succession, intergenerational education and youth empowerment.

Before entering education, Reena worked in brand building and international business development. Helping businesses understand their value led her to a related question: how can young people discover their own strengths and direction?
She sees the application journey as an opportunity for self-discovery: reflecting on experiences, expressing ideas and understanding growth. Helping students find their own stories and build capacity for the future is at the heart of her work with Grown.
